Cracks in COMSOL

I have seen your replies and you helping people with their posted questions.

I have been stuck on creating a crack in COMSOL.
I read a paper where the author created a crack in a rectangular geometry. i am trying to mimic his crack model but without any success.

Attach photo is the author's crack model that I would like to accomplish.

Is there a way you can help me?
