Automatic element addition to simulate material deposition

I'm creating a model to predict temperature history during building a part from additive manufacturing using Laser as a heat source. In this case, the additive manufacturing process demands for a "automatic element addition" to simulate material deposition. However, I'm not sure how we can do it using COMSOL.

Please guide.
